The Catholic Churches are being banished off Canada's Native Lands.

PUBLIC BANISHMENT ORDER

Issued against the Corporations known as the Roman Catholic Church, Anglican Church, and United Church of Canada

By Elders in Council from the Inuit, Cree, Metis, Mohawk, Anishnabe, Basque and Gaelic Nations under traditional and sovereign Land Law Jurisdiction

As of this day, Sunday, September 18, 2011, your organizations, their clergy and officers, are forever banished from our territories and lands, and your property and wealth are claimed and re-possessed for the use and benefit of all our people.

Your right to operate on our land has been forfeited by your rape, torture, and murder of our children, by your refusal to change and do justice, and by your betrayal of your own faith and public trust.

Depart, Now and Forever

If you continue to operate on our land after September 18, 2011, your clergy and officials will be in a state of criminal trespass and public mischief, and will be subject to immediate arrest and detainment by our Common Law Peace Officers.

We call upon all the members of these churches to honor this Banishment Order by withdrawing their financial and material support for these criminal corporations posing as religious bodies, lest they be found guilty of complicity with these crimes.

This Banishment Order will be enforced through direct, non-violent actions by our people to peacefully occupy the church properties of these corporations, and use them to house the homeless and feed the hungry.

We invoke the Great Law of Peace and the Sovereignty of our respective Nations as we proclaim the Permanent Expulsion and Banishment from our communities of the Roman Catholic Church, Inc., the Church of England, Inc. (Anglican-Episcopalian), and the United Church of Canada, Inc.

Sébastien Faure 1858-1942

"The social structure threatens ruin. It is not ready to collapse, I do not mislead you there: there are cracks. However, the social structure is still solid and will need a heavy blow to demolish it. What is necessary, at the present time, is that a powerful breath of revolt rises and passes through all men of goodwill, for the arrogance of our Masters is made of our ignorance, their force is made of our weakness, their courage is made of our failure and their richness is made of our poverty! The spirit of submission degraded their characters, revolt will raise them; the practice of obedience curved their spines, revolt will straighten them; centuries of resignation undermined their humanity, the revolution will save it. As for us, the anarchists, we do not want to live any more as slaves. We declared a pitiless war against the System, yes, a war with the knife! We know that it is necessary for us to win or die. We have thus decided to battle, battle at every moment against all obstacles and all constraints: Religion, Capital, Government, Militarism, Police, etc.

And we are determined to carry out this battle until victory is complete. We want to not only be free ourselves, but that all men shall be free. As long as there will be chains, even if they would be gilded, even if they would be light, even if they would be slack, nevertheless they would bind us, we will not disarm: we want all the chains broken off, all and forever!"

Autonomy

Autonomy (Ancient Greek: αὐτονομία autonomia from αὐτόνομος autonomos from αὐτο- auto- "self" + νόμος nomos, "law" "one who gives oneself their own law") is a concept found in moral, political, and bioethical philosophy. Within these contexts, it refers to the capacity of a rational individual to make an informed, un-coerced decision. In moral and political philosophy, autonomy is often used as the basis for determining moral responsibility for one's actions. One of the best known philosophical theories of autonomy was developed by Kant. In medicine, respect for the autonomy of patients is an important goal of deontology, though it can conflict with a competing ethical principle, namely beneficence. Autonomy is also used to refer to the self-government of the people.

When I was 23 Earth years old...

I wanted to be:
*Published as a writer
*Heard as a poet
*Able to adequately support myself financially
*A vocalist in a punk band, any punk band
*Paid for work that I actually enjoyed and valued
*Accessing effective medication for illness & non-neurotypicality
*Supported by my communities for my spiritual life

I had a crush on:
*Samadhi Beargrrl
*Manky Daemon Whorde
*Tunga. Public sharing of material progress around this started a month before my 23rd birthday can be found HERE
*Autonomedia & G7 Welcoming Committee (first year that I bought products instead of just consuming them)
*Queercore, xLimpWristx, Three Dollar Bill, Soursob Bob, Black Skull Netwerk & SeisMoev, Mechanised Convulsions
*Radical queer community (Particularly Camp Betty, Queeruption)

I regret:
*Not quitting that horrible, back-breaking, underpaid retail job sooner.
*Not blogging more. Only blog post from 23yo Audry HERE
*Not focusing on effective managment of mental illness in order to participate more actively in Black Skull Netwerk.

I was scared of:
*Seizures
*Not being able to provide a good home in Adelaide for my kitty/familiar Lee Henry Oswald
*Lack of opportunities for queer sexual expression and kinky connections in Adelaide
*Monogamous sexual relationships with womyn
*Being trapped in South Australia
*Difficulties in accessing sacred plants/shrooms & psychedelic substances

Tale Of A Mad Night

In Don Quixote's case, the auspicious community of the wise and the sane took it upon themselves to judge his books and to burn them. Cervante's chilling parody of the Spanish Inquisition is echoed by our own contemporary experiences with forces of Law and Order and by the current and recent Administration's attempts to protect us from dangerous ideas and information, for our own good.

In a subtler way, the collective efforts of the self appointed sane influence the whole field of psychiatry and psychology. The clinical diagnosis of psychopathology is too often a form of social control. If other people make us nervous by the foreignness of their queer talk and odd behaviour, we give them tranquilizing drugs and lock them away in custodial institutions."

Wednesday is Indigenous Literacy Day

...And I'll be book-busking on the forecourt in front of Abbey's Bookshop at 131 York Street, Sydney (opposite the Queen Victoria Building) at 3pm.

Abbey's are only letting me read from their "Vintage Classics" Collection, so in order to avoid buying a book from Random House/Abbeys I had to choose one that I already own from that list. I'll be reading from Thomas Pynchon's wonderful novel "V". Any money raised will be matched by Random House (McPublishing) and donated to the Indigenous Literacy Fund. Come and see me and donate a wee bit'o'somethin for Indigenous book-learnins!!
