filthy aussies resist safer sex practices

The world's largest online sex survey has found Australians are lagging behind the rest of the world when it comes to safe sex.

The survey of 317,000 people from around the world has found that Australians need to lift their game.

More than 60 per cent of people admitted to having unprotected sex without knowing their partner's history.

Overall, Australians have sex on average 108 times a year but 44 per cent say that is still not enough.

Twenty-two per cent of respondents think federal Treasurer Peter Costello is Australia's sexiest politician.

Mr Howard scored a low 5 per cent and was even beaten by Federal Opposition Kim Beazley on 7 per cent.
